At the Vatican, the Holy Father joined members of the Joint International Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Oriental Orthodox Churches. Formed ten years ago, the commission was created as an initiative of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity and the ecclesial authorities of the Oriental Orthodox Churches.
