Standing Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches Convene for a Special Meeting


Stony Point, NY – On December 5, 2019, the Standing Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches convened for a special meeting to work on its new bylaws and to discuss its recently renewed dialogue with the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the USA. The meeting was led and hosted by SCOOCH President H.G. Bishop David, Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of New York & New England and Patriachal Exarch of the Coptic Orthodox Archdiocese of North America at the Virgin Mary and St. Pachomius Coptic Orthodox Church. Present were H.E. Mor Dionysios John Kawak of the Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese, H.E. Mor Silvanos Ayub of the Knanaya-Syriac Archdiocese, H.G. Bishop Daniel Findikyan of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church, and representatives of the Armenian, Coptic, Eritrean, Ethiopian, and Syriac Orthodox Churches.
