Paramus, NJ – February 2, 2020 – His Eminence Mor Dionysios John Kawak of the Syriac Orthodox Church hosted the bishops of the Standing Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches (SCOOCh) at the Mor Aphrem Center for a special meeting to discuss SCOOCh’s ongoing dialogue with the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the USA. Present at the meeting were SCOOCh President H.G. Bishop David of the Coptic Orthodox Church, H.G. Bishop Makarios of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church, H.E. Mor Titus Yeldho of the Malankara-Syriac Orthodox Church, and H.G. Bishop Daniel of the Armenian Church, as well as members of the subcommittee responsible for drafting a pastoral agreement between the two bodies. Other administrative issues were also discussed.
