Axios! Axios! Axios! The Standing Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches congratulates Patriarch Elect Aphrem II Karim (H.E. Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim of the Diocese of the Eastern USA) on his election to the Throne of St. Peter as Patriarch of Antioch and all the East. Sayedna has been a leading and active member of the Conference and was presently engaged with overseeing the SCOOCH sub-committee planning this summer’s SCOOCH Youth Conference. His presence on the Conference will be greatly missed. SCOOCH asks the blessing of our Father, Patriarch Elect Aphrem II Karim and prays that God may keep and confirm him upon his throne for many years in peaceful times and endow him with strength and wisdom to see the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church through this present period of trial and persecution.
