His Eminence Mor Dionysios John Kawak Gathers SCOOCh Hierarchs for Meeting and Luncheon with His Eminence Metropolitan Saba (Isper) of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America


Paramus, NJ – On May 10, 2024 His Eminence Mor Dionysios John Kawak gathered the hierarchs of the Standing Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches (SCOOCh) for a special meeting and luncheon in order to introduce Their Eminences and Their Graces to His Eminence, the Most Reverend Saba Isper, the Archbishop of New York and Metropolitan of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America. Present at the meeting were SCOOCh President His Grace Bishop David of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of New York & New England, His Eminence Mor Titus Yeldho of the Malankara Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church, His Eminence Mor Silvanos Ayub of the Knanaya Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church, and His Grace Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan of the Diocese of the Armenian Church (Eastern). His Grace Bishop Makarios and His Grace Bishop Sinoda of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church Archdiocese of North America, His Eminence Archbishop Petros of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church Archdiocese of New York & Its Surrounding Regions, and His Grace Bishop Gabriel of the Coptic Orthodox Archdiocese of North America were unable to attend the meeting and luncheon due to preexisting commitments, but each conveyed their greetings and warm wishes to His Eminence Metropolitan Saba via His Eminence Mor Dionysios.
 
During the heartfelt gathering, the assembled hierarchs spoke about numerous important matters, ranging from ecclesiastical affairs to the difficulties presently facing the Middle East and Orthodox Christian communities in Armenia and throughout the world. It was truly a remarkable opportunity to exchange insights and deepen bonds within our Orthodox Christian community.
 
Following the discussions, the hierarchs convened for an agape meal, uniting the prelates of our beloved Orthodox family in a spirit of brotherhood and love. The Standing Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches looks forward to collaborating with the Antiochian Archdiocese on various levels moving forward.
